一位美国老爸，企业家Dave Fulk在在Linkdedin领英上回答问题：为什么要花大钱让孩子去参加运动？

One of my friends asked”why do you pay so mach money for your kids to do all their sports?”Well I have a confession to make: Idon’t pay for my kids to do sports.Personally, I could care less about what sport they do.

So, if I am not paying for sports what am I paying for?

我的一位朋友问我：“你为什么要花这么多钱让你的孩子去搞体育？” 其实我根本不是把钱花在孩子的体育上了，我甚至对孩子参加什么体育项目都不关心。那么，如果我没为体育花钱，我的钱到底花在什么地方了呢？”

I pay for those moments when my kids become so tired they want to quit but don’t.

孩子精疲力竭想放弃但最终又坚持下来。

I pay for those days when my kids come home from school and are”so tired” to go to their trainning but they go anyway.

孩子放学回家已经累到不能去训练，但无论如何还是去了.

I pay for my kids to learn to be disciplined, focused and dedicated.

孩子学会了遵守纪律、专注和奉献。

I pay foy my kids to learn to take care of their body and equipment.

学会了照顾自己的身体和珍惜装备。

I pay foy my kids to learn to work with others and to be good teammates, gracious in defeat and humble in success.

学会了和他人协作、成为一个优秀的团队成员、胜不骄败不馁。

I pay foy my kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don’t get that placing they’d hoped for,but still go back week after week giving it their best shot.

学会了在没有取得期望的排名或头衔时，能面对挫折、克服困难，并继续努力。

I pay foy my kids to learn to make and accomplish goals.

学会了制订目标并努力实现它。

I pay foy my kids to respect, not only themselves, but other athelets, officers and coaches.

不仅学会了尊重自己，而且尊重其他运动员、裁判和教练。

I pay foy my kids to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and yearsof hardwork and practice to create a champion and that success does not happen overnight.

明白了需要日复一日、年复一年艰苦努力才能获得冠军，而不是一夜之间就获得成功。

I pay foy my kids to be proud of small achievmentss, and to work towards long term goals.

学会了为小的成就感到自豪，并不断为长远目标努力。

I pay for the opportunity my kinds hace and will have to make life-long friendships, creat lifelong memories, to be as proud of their achivements as I am.

得到了或者即将得到结交终生好友的机会、产生人生美好回忆的机会，以及和我一样为自己的成就感到骄傲的机会。

I pay so that my kids can be out on the field or in the gym instead of in front of a screen.

孩子可以外出去运动场或是体育场馆，而不是在电脑前呆坐着。

…I could go on but, to be short, I don’t pay for sports, Ipay for the opportuninties that sports provides my kids with the develop attributes that wii serve them well througout their lives and give them the opportuninty to bless the lives of others.From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment.

我还能说出更多花钱的地方，简而言之，我没为体育运动花钱，而是花在了伴随体育而来的，发展孩子终身受用的品格、让孩子学会赞美他人的生命上面。而且就我目前所看到的，这是一笔物有所值的投资。

 

在可力亚，就老师们所观察到的，运动表现和孩子的学习成绩正相关，跆拳道练得好的孩子，学习不差，在小伙伴中也较受欢迎。究其原因，跆拳道训练中要求的规则意识，专注力和换位思考能力，也是学习和人际交往所必须的。运动不仅发展孩子的身体素质，更促进精神素质的提升。
